Tra Firenze, Montemurlo, Prato e Roma. Fonti, archivi e percorsi di ricerca sulle orme di Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi

The paper would like to propose a census of the archival evidence linked to the beatification and canonization of Saint Mary Magdalene de' Pazzi, starting from the reconstruction of the state of the art of studies, with attention to the latest published publications. In fact, 2016 marked the 450th anniversary of the nun's birth, 2019 the 350th anniversary of her canonization, 2022 the 415th anniversary of her death and 2026 will be the fourth centenary of her beatification. In this period full of celebrations and initiatives, some new and innovative studies have been published that reinterpret the figure of the saint from a multidisciplinary perspective. The contribution would therefore like to fit into this dynamic context by offering sources and research ideas for those who want to study the saint, through the magnifying glasses represented by the territories of Montemurlo and Prato.

Il contributo vorrebbe proporre un censimento delle testimonianze archivistiche legate alla beatificazione e canonizzazione di santa Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi, partendo dalla ricostruzione dello stato dell’arte degli studi, con attenzione alle ultime pubblicazioni edite. Infatti, nel 2016 sono stati festeggiati i 450 anni dalla nascita della religiosa, nel 2019 i 350 anni dalla canonizzazione, nel 2022 i 415 anni dalla morte e nel 2026 sarà il IV centenario della beatificazione. In questo periodo ricco di celebrazioni e iniziative sono stati dati alle stampe alcuni studi nuovi e innovativi che rileggono la figura della santa in ottica multidisciplinare. Il contributo vorrebbe, quindi, inserirsi in tale dinamico contesto offrendo fonti e spunti di ricerca per chi vorrà studiare la santa, attraverso le lenti di ingrandimento rappresentate dai territori di Montemurlo e Prato.
