Absence seizure epilepsy is a neurological disease not unfrequent in children and adolescents. The present study is devoted to investigate on the possibility that the common mouse strain DBA/2J, already known for his ability to manifest audiogenic convulsive crises, could represent in turn also an experimental model of petit mal. New neurophysiological evidences supporting this view are hereafter critically discussed.
