Special Education and Special Didactics are independent scientific disciplines that have historically been enriched through interdisciplinary dialogue with other fields of knowledge. The present contribution seeks to outline, from an epistemological and methodological perspective, the elements of a possible engagement with Ecology and ecological education through the construct of sustainability, conceived as a space for meaningful parallels and convergences. Drawing on a critical review of the literature and an analysis of educational practices, the study reveals a productive and innovative dialogue that aims to identify further research perspectives for the design of integrated and inclusive educational pathways, oriented toward some of the major global challenges related to social inequalities and the environmental crisis.
La Pedagogia Speciale e la Didattica Speciale sono discipline scientifiche indipendenti, ma che storicamente si sono nutrite del dialogo interdisciplinare con altri campi del sapere. In questa sede il tentativo perseguito è quello di prospettare, da un punto di vista epistemologico e metodologico, gli elementi di un possibile confronto con l’Ecologia e l’educazione ecologica attraverso l’uso del costrutto di sostenibilità, luogo per significativi parallelismi e convergenze. Attraverso una revisione critica della letteratura e l’analisi delle pratiche, emerge un dialogo proficuo e innovativo teso a delineare ulteriori prospettive di ricerca per la progettazione di percorsi formativi integrati e inclusivi, orientati ad alcune delle principali sfide globali relative alle disuguaglianze sociali e alla crisi ambientale.
