Dopo avere ricostruito le molteplici cause dell’astensionismo elettorale attraverso l’analisi delle principali manifestazioni della crisi del rappresentante e del rappresentato – riconducibili alla società liquida, al sistema dei partiti e alla legislazione elettorale –, il saggio evidenzia come tali fattori abbiano progressivamente alimentato la disaffezione al voto e individua nella predisposizione di una risposta sistemica e tempestiva la necessaria direttrice di contrasto al fenomeno del non voto.
