Abstract

The reception of the pseudo-Quintilianic Declamationes maiores in the 15th century remains an understudied area of research. My paper aims to provide a relevant case study concerning the use of the argumenta by the humanist Giorgio Merula (1430–1494) in his commentary on Juvenal’s seventh satire (lines 166–170).
