Abstract
Friendship, Civil and Political Society, Rights. Giuseppe Mazzini’s thought and actions were strongly influenced by the long period of exile spent in London, where he established strong and long-lasting ties which in time proved to be precious for his personal and intellectual growth, but also for revealing to European public opinion the Italian people’s aspirations for political emancipation. This article tries to investigate, through the reconstruction of the ties between Mazzini and Stansfeld (considered to be his English disciple), the value that the intellectual from Genoa attributed to friendship which he considered the constructive foundations of a civil and political society.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
