The paper is pivoted on the concept of soundful bodies, i.e. the idea that each music performer is what she/he sings/plays, so that music making is embodied in the meeting/interaction of real individual persons. Rather than to deal with the “music of the peasants" is therefore more meaningful to deal with peasants who make music as interacting sound bodies within performance scenarios and on the basis of their existential backgrounds.

Abstract

The paper is pivoted on the concept of soundful bodies, i.e. the idea that each music performer is what she/he sings/plays, so that music making is embodied in the meeting/interaction of real individual persons. Rather than to deal with the “music of the peasants" is therefore more meaningful to deal with peasants who make music as interacting sound bodies within performance scenarios and on the basis of their existential backgrounds.
