The present work reports some considerations from measurement surveys for the determination of the basic values of iron, manganese and aluminum in the water table of the aquifer system underlying the industrial Macchiareddu-Assemini, that the ARPAS (Sardinian Environmental Protection Regional Agency), on the basis of different datasets acquired with different timing and mode, arranged to define in 2012, despite showing the problematic use of the values determined. An acquisition campaign in October 2013, targeted to the specific objective, allowed to re-evaluate the basic values, highlighting the particular relevance of the mode of acquisition of samples and procedures for cleaning and decontamination of equipment.
