The article treats the concept of useful from a pragmatic point of view and sustains that it plays a key-role in the formation and in the development of the social groups, of the forwarded societies and of the states. Moreover it reveals that the concept is affected of a some ambiguity if one intends it like individualistic useful. The not authentic character of this concept replaces the authentic one if one forgets its originally function to support the human social attitudes.
