The aim of this paper is to focus on dynamics of relationship man-nature in John Dewey, trying to reconstruct in a dramatic key the problem of selfhood. Through use of a phenomenological method, it is pointed out which steps lead individual to a process of ethical self-realization. It is given great care to the drama that subject lives in his rational choice of values. It lead the American philosopher to find in ethics the final development of logic. This turning-point moves the whole individual course to a level of responsibility. It is both dramatic and risky and it is for subject only way to define his reality by intelligence, personality, and creativity.
