New catches of Aulopus filamentosus (Bloch, 1797) (Ostheichthyes, Aulopidae) in the Sardinian seas are reported in this note. Twenty-three specimens (18 females and 5 males) were caught between 140 and 166 m depth during a trawl survey carried out in September 2004 and April 2005. Morphologic and meristic characters and biological data are included.
