Abstract

The combination of apomorphine with a peripheral dopamine receptor blocker (domperidone) has been administered to four Parkinsonian patients in a double blind placebo controlled study. The therapeutic efficacy of apomorphine was not antagonized by domperidone, while nausea, drowsiness, sedation and arterial hypotension were prevented. Domperidone makes the clinical use of dopamine agonists in Parkinson's disease more feasible.
