Feeding habits of three species of Scopraenidae, Scorpaena notata, S.porcus and S.loppei (Osteichthyes, Scopraenidae) as a function of size were investigated to assess the inter and intra specific competition. Crustaceans decapoda were the main food item in all three species. A strong interspecific food overlap was observed in small size classes and between adults (medium and large size classes) of S.porcus and S.notata whereas intraspecific competition between small size classes and adults was high only for S.loppei.
