A new procedure using EM algorithm (Expectaction Maximization) implemented with Multimix is proposed. The software, originally created to estimate parameters of normal mixture, is applied for the first time with more simultaneous variables to identify the cohorts in the marine populations. The analysis has been carried out using a series of biometric data for the female of Aristaeomorpha foliacea (Risso, 1827)(Crustacea Decapoda) showing interesting application aspects
