Abstract
The occurrence of a glass eel of Anguilla anguilla (Anguilliformes, Anguillidae) is reported in Sardinian coastal waters for the first time. The specimen (7.5 cm of total length) was captured during a night sampling carried out by using light traps in the Gulf of Cagliari. Given the controversies about the life cycle and patterns of dispersal and migration of this species in the Mediterranean Sea, this catch represents an important step in this field for future studies.File in questo prodotto:
