Background: TDP-43 and hnRNPA1/A2 factors are implicated in neurodegeneration. Results: The human and fruit fly TDP-43 and hnRNPA1/A2 orthologs show physical, genetic, and functional interplays. Conclusion: The functional cooperation between TBPH/Hrp38 and TDP-43/hnRNP A/B is conserved throughout evolution.
