Abstract
The decommissioning and reuse of historic real estate is particularly urgent in at least a European context and involves various categories of artefacts, including historic prisons. The contribution illustrates the methodological process developed in research programmes and university teaching courses for other types of large real estate complexes, including particular convent buildings and military architecture and then tested with positive results on the Buoncammino prison in Cagliari. In detail, the use of raumbuch was experimented here as an integrated tool for the synthesis of analytical data, stratigraphic interpretations and systems of values found on the artefacts, the application of which allowed the reasoned archiving of information, the parametric comparison between homogeneous data and the overlapping of thematic information deriving from heterogeneous data, within a rational framework of knowledge. The application to the case study allowed to validate, with respect to the specificity of the prison architecture, the set of parameters dedicated to the performance characterization of the construction elements and to the coding of material and intangible values, arriving at the verification of cultural interest – pursuant to art. 12 of D. Lgs. 42/2004 – of every single element of the building, and to the drafting of the "white book" of interventions, to support the design choices.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
